Meanwhile On Instagram...

Watercolor & watercolor pencil study of Yoda by Philip A. Buck. About 3in wide & tall.

Hello, friends! It's been a little while since I've posted some non-digital comics coloring work. Let's change that! Here are just a few snapshots of watercolor, pencil, & ink sketches that I've posted over on my Instagram & other social media accounts this year. These all were done as either practice, technique studies, warm-ups or cool downs. You can click the images to view them larger!

Watercolor & watercolor pencil study of Yoda. About 2 1/2 inches tall & wide. By Philip A. Buck.

Here is what I said about the above Yoda watercolors when I posted them on Instagram: (First Yoda,) "Another rough & quick Yoda watercolor sketch from yesterday to shake off the cobwebs! Touched it up a bit today."
(Second Yoda,) "A fuzzy photo of a Yoda watercolor study I did earlier today. Not quite as planned (a bit over worked?) but not bad for being so rusty!"

A study of Wallace Tripp's work. Watercolor & watercolor pencil, 2 1/2x1 1/2 inches big. By Philip A. Buck.

This little watercolor mouse was a little, quick watercolor study of a Wallace Tripp illustration. Nowhere near the master cartoonist & illustrator's skill, but it helped me figure out a few things for a piece I was preparing for.

A loose Robert Mitchum sketch in ink by Philip A. Buck. About 5x6 inches.

Now with ink! Trying to practice using my new Pentel Pocket brush in tiny spaces. May have over worked the face? Not sure. As Yoda would probably say, "Always learning we are." Thanks for checking in! I'm planning on sharing more of my recent watercolors, sketches & comics coloring soon, but in the meantime feel free to visit the other spots I share work online that are linked in the side bar & the top of this page, including my Instagram! God bless, you guys!
