#Freedom2TheWorld- Album Art for Cary & New Nation's Live Recording

I don't do a lot of album artwork for musicians, but every once in a while I have the pleasure of working with a singer or band to create a visual representation of their music or themselves. I just had such a pleasure making this image for Cary "Stew" Steward & his awesome group, New Nation.

The band has been together for about ten years & I think I've been a fan for basically that whole time. I went to college with Stew & many of the current & past members & have been enjoying their inspired music & ministry ever since. I was excited to hear that they are recording their first live concert album this weekend! I was doubly thrilled to be asked to illustrate the artwork for the album! I'm planning to post a more detailed break down of the process creating this album cover later, but I wanted to go ahead & give you all the information for this weekend's live recording in case you can attend!

Time-lapse Video of "The Flash" Ink Sketch

Hello, friends! Do you watch The Flash? I sure do! It's not a perfect show, but I think it is pretty wonderful over all. So much fun! I've enjoyed the character in the comics & cartoons for many years & it's a thrill to see how the show takes a lot of what makes The Flash so great & brings it to life in a live-action TV show! And don't get me started on that crossover with Supergirl, (so GOOD!)

All that to say, the season two finale of The Flash was about to air a little while back & I was so excited that I just had to do a quick sketch before it came on! I decided that it was a perfect opportunity to record a time-lapse video of my process drawing & inking the sketch to share with you all! The video above is sped up quite a bit, so don't start thinking I have super-speed powers or the Speed Force! har har har

Here is the final image scanned & with the blue lines removed & levels adjusted in Photoshop. I think it turned out OK for a speedy sketch. Thanks for taking a look! I may do more videos in the future. Would you guys like that? Well, until next time, God Bless!
